Challenge

When a lower hold demands the higher hold submit or release.

When a lower-priority hold (typically 2nd or 3rd) demands the higher-priority hold submit a confirmed offer within an agreed window (usually 24–72 hours) or release the date. Used when the lower hold has revenue at stake and can't wait indefinitely. Agents broker the challenge with the higher hold; the higher hold either confirms the deal (locking the date) or releases. Challenge tension is a healthy market signal: it means buyers genuinely want the date.
