Venue-provided labor that helps load gear in and out, set the stage, push cases, and reset between acts. At unionized venues stagehands are members of IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees) and work under defined labor calls. At non-union venues they're typically casual labor coordinated by a steward. Stagehand call sizes (number of bodies + length of call) get negotiated in advance and roll into show costs. Bad stagehand calls (too few people, untrained, or wrong skills) slow load-in and burn crew morale.
