The percentage is typically 80–90% after the venue's allowable expenses (production costs, advertising, ticketing fees). The 'versus' refers to the head-to-head comparison at settlement: guarantee vs. door percentage. Common at the headliner and mid-level where the artist has the leverage to capture upside on a strong night. Also written 'guarantee vs. %' or simply 'GTE vs. %'. Settlement is where the actual number gets calculated.
