The custom audio mix sent to a single performer on stage so they can hear themselves and the rest of the band, typically through floor wedges or in-ear monitors. Each musician gets their own mix tuned to what they personally need to perform (drummer might want more click and kick; vocalist wants more of their own voice). Discrete monitor mixes are the resource a venue advertises in its production specs (e.g. '12 monitor mixes'). More mixes = more individual customization possible.
